Clinique Even Better SPF 15 Foundation | First Impressions & 10 hours Test

Hello beauties,

If you are like me you’ll find it difficult to find the perfect foundation. My skin is dehydrated, oily on my t-zone and normal on the cheeks (known as combination skin) and normally matte foundations look horrible on my dry spots and glow foundations makes my skin shine like a disco ball.

Because of that, it’s difficult to find a foundation that stays good all over my skin. I already found a couple of them, it’s true, but as a beauty lover (almost obsessed) when I have the opportunity I try more and more to see if I can find another one.

Clinique is a brand that’s specialized in skincare but also in makeup. They have a lot of foundations and I have to say that now I tried them all.

Today we are going to talk about the Clinique’s Even Better Foundation.

This well known and not so new foundation always made me curious because I read good and bad things about it.

‘Moderate-coverage foundation instantly perfects, improves evenness of skin. Vitamin C and antioxidants actively work to help diminish the look of dark spots, age spots, acne scars. Stay-true pigments won’t change color on your skin, for flawless, undetectable coverage. Non-streaking, non-settling. Non-Acnegenic. Ophthalmologist Tested. Sweat, humidity and water-resistant’.

I decided to make a first impressions post and for that, I applied the foundation at 8am and took it off at 8pm, and we in these 10 hours we are going to see how well it went.

The good:

  • I didn’t notice oxidation in this foundation. I hate when foundations oxidize! When we applied a color and after a couple of minutes we look like an Oompa loop. This one stayed with the same color all day.
  • The shade 5N looked perfect on my summer skin. I always have difficulty finding my shade on clinique’s foundations. They always look too yellow and the palest shade is always too dark but with this foundation, I didn’t have that problem.
  • You can work the coverage (applying more or less product)
  • It has SPF 15
  • When I applied the foundation, my skin looked airbrushed. My pores weren’t showing at all and the skin looked so beautiful and even. The skin was not sticky and I didn’t feel that I had a foundation.
  • Although after 10hours there were places where the foundation moved, in other places the foundation looked still beautiful!
  • It didn’t grab any dry patch and looked beautiful on my t-zone. I like to say that the nose is the test and this foundation looked beautiful on my nose, probably one of the foundations that looked the best on my nose.
  • After a couple of hours, my t-zone was very shiny but that normally happens with every foundation and I always need to set if again with a mattifying Powder.
  • A little goes a long way

The bad:

  • It’s a little difficult to blend and you need to be fast because it dries fast making it more difficult to blend
  • After a couple of hours, this foundation evidence my forehead wrinkle lines
  • After 4 hours my cheek pores were so big and you can clearly see that in the photos. I applied a little of blurring/ mattifying powder (Fenty Beauty invisible powder) and it did help a little.
  • After 4 hours the foundation evidence all the imperfections on my cheeks
  • After a couple of hours, I didn’t have any foundation on my nose.
  • It transfers to clothes

Final Thoughts

I don’t hate this foundation but I don’t love it either. My biggest problem was the fact that after a couple of hours my forehead wrinkle lines were very evidenced (this normally happens with very matte foundation and to me, this is more a semi-matte), my cheek pores were twice the size and I saw a lot of imperfection on my skin. Maybe that happened because of the primer??

I used the Fenty Beauty Primer and a brush to apply it. I will probably try this foundation with another primer and see if something changes in terms of pore size and imperfections after a couple of hours.

When I applied this foundation I really wanted to love it because I loved how my skin looked but after a couple of hours, I didn’t know what to think.

After 10hours my skin was very shiny but I tried foundations that looked worst in terms of oil in less time.

To me, this foundation is definitely for Combination skin, but if you have alot of imperfections or big pores then I advise you to try a sample before buying the normal size.

FYI: I used the color 5N.

You can check more information here and it has a cost of $29.
