Things to do at home: Netflix series to watch…or re-watch

Hello beauties,

Did you like our last post about things you can do at home? (if you did not read it, you can see it here).

This time, we bring you another idea, I mean, maybe it’s not a new idea once you’re at home, but we would like to suggest some series for you to watch on Netflix. What do you think? Or if you have already seen them, you can always see again – no one will judge you!

Virgin River

This series is a drama based on the Harlequin book series by Robyn Carr and follows the story of Melinda who answers to be a midwife in a remote Californian town called Virgin River. Her ‘husband’ is played by Daniel Gillies (The Originals, TVD) and her new love interest is played by Martin Henderson (Grey’s Anatomy). Both men are gorgeous, what a lucky lady!

The ending is neurotic, but don’t worry because season 2 will be released in late 2020.

Perfect for people that: want romance and something sweet and calm to see.

The Witcher

Also based on books, the Witcher follows the journey of Gerald, a monster hunter that struggles to find his place in a world where people prove to be more wicked than beasts. I promise that you’ll be addicted to the eight episodes if only to be looking to Henry Calvin.

I don’t want to give spoilers but pay close attention to the time the action is taking place, that’s all I can say. The good news is that a second season is already confirmed.

Perfect for people that: like adventure and sci-fi!

I already saw the two seasons and I have to say that I like the first a little more. What can I say? This story follows a bookstore manager who crosses paths with an aspiring female writer, then he turns out to be a creeper and obsessed with everything the girl does! In the second season, he finds his match but that ending… Oh, I almost forgot to say that this show can be scary when you realize what every person can do with the help of social media and the internet.

Perfect for people that: love thriller, creepy guys and a good plot twist!

Carbon Altered

Following the books, this series follows Takeshi Kovacs, the only surviving soldier of a group of elite interstellar warriors. His mind was imprisoned for centuries when a wealthy businessman Bancroft, offers him the chance to live again, he just needs to solve a murder – Bancroft’s!

I forgot to say that this happens more than 300 years in the future, and human bodies are interchangeable and death is no longer permanent. This is a series that you want to watch alone and after all, I still think it is very romantic but also sinister (when the character takes his hear and offers it to the love of his life ‘take it, it’s yours, it always was’).

Perfect for people that: like to follow clues and sci-fi a lot!

Meteor Garden

Dong Shancai is determined to excel at her dream university, where she encounters an elite of popular people. Of course, as a good romantic story, she falls in love with the popular boy and they have a happy ending. It has a lot of moments when you think ‘what? why?’ but after a few episodes, you start to like it. The main actor is gorgeous, as all the cast (let’s be honest). I just want to know their secrets for that perfect skin.

Perfect for people that: want a series with a lot of episodes, kind like a soap opera and perfect to see with all the family.

Stranger Things

I like this series a lot. I saw all the episodes and in my opinion, the first and last season was the best. In 1980s Indiana, a group of young friends witnesses supernatural forces and secret government exploits. As they search for answers, the children unravel a series of extraordinary mysteries.

Perfect for people that like: monsters, government secrets, mysteries and kids that solves everything.

A Korean Odyssey

I start watching this because I had the time and wanted something calm to watch. This is it. It has comedy, romance and it’s something that I never imagined to see.

A self-serving mythical creature bid for invincibility backfires when he finds himself at the mercy of a woman who can see otherwordly beings.

Perfect for people that: love series easy to watch while your heart is rooting for the two protagonists.

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina

This adaptation of the ‘Sabrina the Teenage Witch’ tale is a lot darker than the previous one. Sabrina Spellman wrestles to reconcile her dual nature, half-witch, half-mortal, while standing against the evil forces that threaten her, her family (including aunts Hilda and Zelda) and the daylight humans inhabit.

In Season 1 I was all Sabrina and Harvey, in Season 2  all I wanted was Sabrina and Nick, while in Season 3 I just want to know why Nick, why?!

Perfect for people that: who remember seeing the old Sabrina the teenager Witch with Melissa Joan Hart and want something new and darker!

When three working-class teens enroll in an exclusive private school in Sain, the clash between them and the wealthy students leads to murder. I love to see Guzmán and Nadia, they are my favorite pair. This serie made me a little bit crazy because I like to see Valerio with Lucrécia..and yeah I know what they are!

I would accept Valerio at my house every day!

Perfect for people that: mysteries, stories of rich teenagers and a lot of kisses (including a sister and brother)!

Spinning Out

An ice skater struggles to maintain a balance between love, family and a mental health problem, while the dream of Olympic victory becomes overwhelming.

Perfect for people that: like ice skating choreographies and is a fan of Kaya Scodelario from Maze Runner.

AJ and the Queen

Robert, a down-on-his-luck drag queen who performs as Ruby Red, prepares for a new adventure, as the owner of a new salon but after a robbery by the boyfriend, Ruby has to travel in a van across America to compete in the Miss Drag USA pageant to gain some money. Joining on the trip is 10 years old stowaway. The tour hits a snag as the vehicle rolls into Texas, and it comes to na end when Ruby copetes in the pageant.

I loved this series, it has comedy and shows that we don’t have to accept preconception. I laught and I cried with it.

Perfect for people that: like a good laught and a good lesson.

The Pharmacist

After losing his son in a drug-related shooting, small-town pharmacist Dan Schneider embarques on a crusade to bring a reckoning against the powerful figures behind the nation’s devasting opioid epidemic.

Perfect for people that: loves crime documentarys and storys of life.

Jonathan Harker travels to Transylvania to meet a new cliente and finalize the sale of a stately house in London but finds himself trapped in a terrifying maze-like castle of undead brides with a vampire Count whose ambition is to conquer the world.

This serie is very small (just 3 episodes) and after the first episode, I was a little skeptical because I always associate Drácula with actors like Luke Evans and Vlad from Jeaniene Frost books but after seeing the entire season I understandwhy they chose this actor. I like some parts and others made me a little sad.

Perfect for people that: like small series and dark stories.

Lucifer, a demon, returns from hell to reside in Los Angeles and runs a club. He soon gets involved with the local police and assists them in solving tricky criminal cases.

Let’s get straight and say that Tom Ellis is an eye candy but don’t worry because he is also a good actor, you’ll love this serie. I think I watched season 4 in five days.

Netflix bought this show and season 4 is available since last year.  Good news is that they were alredy halfway through the finale episode of season 5 when filming was halted.

Perfect for people that: likes to solve criminal cases, it’s like ‘Castle’ with a twist.
