Ok, maybe it’s not warm enough to start thinking about shorts or mini skirts but when I look down I can’t stop thinking that my legs have seen better days. We just came from winter hibernation and I think that legs are what most suffer during those cold months – no hair removal regimes and no tans.
But brighter days are here and with that we need to step up the game of our legs, and because of that we’ve come up with five simples ways to make sure your legs are ready for the summer.
#1 BODY SCRUB
The first step is to say goodbye to any dead skin. After the cold days, the skin are usually a bit dry and dull, and even if you exfoliated and moisturized throughout the winter, the skin can demand something extra. Not only will this create a clean, smooth skin, it will also help boost circulation and get rid of any dullness.
I could give you a lot of examples of good scrubs but there is one that is my favorite, and that’s the Frank Body A-Beauty Scrub. This scrub is great to soothe skin, fade pigmentation and marks.
#2 DRY BODY BRUSH
This is a thing that not everybody uses, or know, but a dry body brush can be very helpfulon your skin. Brushing from the ankles upwards in the direction of the heart in quick, swift motions boosts circulation (skin’s microcirculation) and helps lymphatic drainage. Trapped fluid emphasizes cellulite and makes legs feel heavy, but by brushing 2x/day you can decrease fluid retention and toxins are drained away.
If you want supple and smooth legs, you have to moisturize and to do it on the reg. This is not a step you want to skip. Nothing will leave legs in a better condition that super hydrated skin. You can choose a expensive product but let me tell you that I have found a good and cheap moisturizer that works really good. It’s the Avon restoring moisture with Coconut oil.
#4 HAIR REMOVAL
There a lot of options when it comes to hair removal – laser, epilation, waxing or shaving. Laser can be pricey, epilating could be compared to a Medieval torture technique and waxing is for those with a high pain toleration. Which leaves us ….shaving! Well, in my humble opinion, I like to waxing some areas while the others I like shaving, it all depends of the area that you want to shave. We are gong to give you a simple option – a Venus razor. They’ve been reliable since we were teenagers and they just keep getting better with the years.
The secret for a good tan it to make it subtle. You’re aiming for the kind of sun kissed shade skin develops after a long hot weekend, when skin has just ‘turned’, not full on tropical tan. Our advice is to star to apply one day and see what’s the shade you want to achieve on the next days. Remember the rule: you want it natural.
These are the steps, if you don’t think either of these are for you, you can adjust these steps with products that you know that works for you.
Don’t forget to comment what are you favorite ways to prepare you legs for summer.
